I’ll throw this out there as a wild assertion without much support. The Rivendell Bombadil exhibits the most perfect fork bends of any Rivendell model ever. Nobody has a Rivendell with a better looking bend than Bombadil owners. Rivendells are consistently “good”. Bombadils are perfect.

I've got one of those early clearcoated bomadils. Like Joe the spider rust doesn't bother me. I did trade a few emails with RBW re the clearcoat "issue". My takeaway was that it's really a powdercoat "issue", but with colored powdercoat you cant see whats going on. Mine isn't as clean as the
