If you are using the 340xx code, then it turns out that the older nvidia cards are not working as there are no updates for them. I read that there is a search for someone to work on this package.
There is a workaround for the 340xx driver on https://rpmfusion.org/Howto/NVIDIA I downgraded to nouveau driver to save headaches.
