After downloading the compressed Sage for Linux/64bit, extract the compressed archive, move it to some location (let us say it becomes `/path/to/sagemath` which could mean `~/sagemath` or `/opt/sagemath` or any location you chose), then change to the Sage root folder by running ``` $ cd

This is likely caused by libraries from homebrew /usr/local leaking into the build, specifically homebrew's version of FLINT. Remove homebrew's version of flint; or try the current development version, which has fixes for this problem. Also - it's best to avoid "pip install --upgrade " for
