Yes, I agree, in the sense that the failure is coming from the doctests added there. I just tried the same doctests (without the rest of the changes from #23742) with 8.1.beta8, and the same thing happens. So it looks like #23742 adds doctests but doesn't fully fix the issues that the doctests
