Hi,
I checked out and built latest SANE from CVS a few hours ago, seeking
remedy for the 'Read error' bug which was plagueing me when running
2.4.17 kernel (but not happening with 2.2.20).
To recap: most of the time when doing any scan, or second and subsequent
previews, the scanner reads all or

I have a HP scanjet 5400c, any clues on how to put it working
with SANE, tried some general steps, but no driver is
instaled...
(I use Mandrake dist. 8.2, and I'm a so called, newbye in the
Linux world but I learn quick...) :-)
thanks,

This is brilliant. Really, really good. One thing that might want to

Hi,
the 5400c is currently not supported with SANE. But you can try

The SCSI-Canon backends will not recognize your scanner model, but they

Hi,
Just for your information: I got quite a view emails containing binary
attachments that look like a worm or virus intended for MS Windows.
Nothing unusual but this time they claim to be sent by the SANE
mailinglist or other senders in connection to SANE or scanners. Peter

Hi,
Is there any information in the SANE standard how the pixels in 1 bit
(lineart mode) are ordered? From the current implementations I guess
it's like in pbm images:
11
pixel 01234567 89012345
bit 76543210 76543210
that means, the first pixels is in the most significant
