Hi, these error messages may belong to a video module. You can try to avoid these messages by commenting out the entry v4l in /etc/sane.d/dll.conf. After you have plugged in the USB cable of the scanner, you should see it in /proc/bus/usb/devices. Something similar to T: Bus=01 Lev=01
