Hello,
I have a multifonction Epson Stylus DX4050 and sane does work well with this
line
in libsane.rules:
# Epson DX-4050
SYSFS{idVendor}==04b8, SYSFS{idProduct}==082f, MODE=664, GROUP=scanner
$ lsusb

Hi all,
Any chance we can get this to work? The scanner is working with SANE,
but I can only scan 1/4 (top left corner) of the whole A4 document. I
know I have used it before - I guess about 1 or 2 years, and was working

Also, are there any

Hi,
I have an hp5590 scanner and I've been using it successfully with the
hp5590 driver whose source is in the backend, but which isn't included
by default in the build.
Any chance of it being promoted to inclusion in the build?

that depends on the author of the backend doing all the little things
it takes to get the backend loaded. i believe it has come up recently.

oh, i'm sorry. I was thinking of another backend.
everything that gets added to cvs prior to the as-yet-undecided cutoff
date will go into the next release, including Ilia's hp5590 backend.

This is the proposed timetable for the release of sane-backends 1.0.19:
2008-01-06 Feature freeze
2008-01-20 Code freeze
2008-02-03 Release
The dates may move a few days if required. This is a longer
'pre-freeze' period than normal, but it seems justified given the
longer development period and

your mechanism for setting up two copies is correct, but if you use
the -N option for diff, you wont have to include the separate tarball,

gzip to help.
diff -N -u $CVS $NEW | gzip -c - hs2p_patch.gz
