how can i enable jpeg compression for the fujitsu scanner (4120C)?
I used it a lot last year, but after reinstalling my system, the feature
is no longer available.
So i compiled the lates sane-backends. Bu when i try to compile
sane-frontends, i get the following error-message:
ADF with iscan-2.17.0 works.

Yes- the new frame types and new statuses are no longer enabled by
default in sane-backends CVS, because we are preparing for a non-API
changing release.
You will need to edit include/sane/sane.h, and change the '#if 0' to
'#if 1' around the new status values and around the new frame types,

I have a problem wwhen I try to scan with the document feeder of my Epson
GT2500.
When I do :
$ scanimage --device-name=epkowa --source Automatic --adf_mode Duplex
--resolution 300 --mode Binary --speed=yes --brightness 1 --sharpness 1
--format tiff --batch=try%03d.tif

except that I must boot into XP to use it.

I decided to try add my scanner to sane. I'v read the recommendations
about how to do it however
yesterday on the list this was announced as a problem with iscan.
downgrade to 2.17, iirc.
