Do you have the possibility to get a Windows usb snoop log using
SnoopyPro.exe, to check if the protocol this model uses is a Pixma one ?
I can give you instructions on how to do this if needed.

just some update. I fixed the usb issue. one hub was broken. dang it.
anyway, sane-find-scanner now puts out:
found USB scanner (vendor=0x413c [Language Error], product=0x5115
[Language Error]) at libusb:002:022
and sanimage -L putts out
