Hi James,
Not every Brother device is a Scanner thus that workaround, as I
understand, will never be added to
the official SANE distribution tree, however the same fix could work
for Ubuntu 10.04 too.
kind regards

Hi again,
Just a little update.
I've coded up to Urb 82 of the initiation and
so far it looks fairly okay.

Hi,
I think the CanoScan 4200F uses a firmware.
Can this be true acording the log I've uploaded
to this location: http://www.keenan.dk/rk_test/bootlog.tar.bz2
(look at Urb 19(write) and Urb 24(read))
If so I'd like if someone could analyze it.
I've even extrated the data packet to the file
Hi'
What I'd try, when unplugging and replugging the scanner and it
doesn't stop adding to the log, is; just after you replugged the
Scanner is to start up the scanner software.
ie. In Photoshop go to:
Files-Import-CanoScan 3000F
And just let it start up, not pressing preview, scan or any
Hi' all,
Now I've made a few logs, and I've come across something
odd.
I start the sniffer, then open the preview/scanning
interface from my photo editor (PS7).
And when it's running, the sniffer just stops getting any
more packets even when scanning an image of say 1x1cm at 100dpi.
I can even
Hi' Martin,
I guess you mean the CanoScan 4200F. I'll say the development
is going slowly. Lack of the ability to create usb logs has
slowed the process. And time have been scarce over the past 6
months.
However things are looking brighter now with the release of
the VMWare Player 2.0 which has

of you who's writing USB applications.
My question meight seem simple, however
the solution does elude me.
In my log file it takes my scanner 80ms to

Hi,
I'm trying to write a backend for the CanoScan4200F. So I'd
put you on a list of testers for the time when I have something :)
In that sense I still need some explanation of the USB log I've made

Hi everyone,
The documentation on this seems to be purely reference

How do one read/write to a usb device (scanner)?
Will it return data on invalid commands, and where?
And so on...
Could I see a general piece of code that I could use

Hi!
I see my self as a programmer, though it's been a while I've written in C.
So I'd like some guidence on how to communicate with a usb device in C, as
I've primariely done GUI, cryptographic and socket programming in C++.
Greetings and best wishes
