JOB SUMMARY Responsible & accountable for support of Plano Data Center Migrations & services for secure multinational network, including regional Local Area Networks & Wide Area Network connectivity. Installs, implements, & supports secure network equipment & software. Uses a variety of testing tools and techniques to troubleshoot & resolve complex technical problems associated with the network's hardware & software. Will interface with vendors & maintenance providers to service & maintain the network, will implement necessary measures to limit network downtime, & will provide technical support to optimize network performance. Will interface with end users to resolve issues. Manages all incidents via a centralized Helpdesk application. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides third-tier support for network & network security related Helpdesk tickets. Ensures proper communication to end users throughout the ticket life cycle. Serves as contact for remote network locations/user to obtain clarification of problems and to identify solutions or corrective actions. Assists in maintaining the local area network or wide area network, cable & hub installations, inventories, & other related duties. Assists in maintaining migrations Run Books for Data Center Migrations. Ability to document Source Data Center Networks as well as Destination Network for Migrations. Analyzes user support statistics & other data & recommends appropriate measures. Maintains the network's physical & logical structures, including all network connections & support software. Installs & tests network hardware & software, performs routine maint. & applies vendor updates to software. Prepares & analyzes statistics on network utilization & availability. Manages performance tuning & capacity planning activities to enhance the performance of the network resources. Communicates with vendors, users, management, & network programming staff. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS Success candidate requires considerable knowledge of large production Wide Area Networks as well as Data Center Migrations.
