*Job Title: WebSphere Portal Administrator* *Location: NYC – New York, NY* *Duration: Long Term Project* .............Need EAD, GC & US Citizens........... WebSphere Portal Administrator Role: The position is for one consultant for staff augmentation for an existing team to assist with build-out of the new Portal 7.0 environment. This person would also assist in supporting the current Portal 6.0 environment when needed. In simple terms, the position needs an additional seasoned Portal admin on the team until at least the end of the year. Overall Responsibilities: Build a new Portal Server 7.0 environment running in Linux and to also assist in supporting the current Portal 6 environment (running in Solaris) which consists of 8 servers (4 environments - 2 servers in each). Most of this person's time would be spent on the build-out of the new environment. JOB DESCRIPTION: The candidate chosen for this position will provide administration, support and maintenance of IBM Portal Server applications, including installation, maintenance, configuration, documentation and tuning of clustered IBM Portal Server servers in the Solaris & Linux environment. Portal 7.0 work for right now is not for the migration from Portal 6.0.1 to 6.1.5 to 7.0 migration; it's for a new Portal 7.0 (on Linux) infrastructure build-out for a new application - at the same time, assisting with support for our current Portal 6.0.1.3 app. Administers WebSphere Portal applications which includes configuration, clustering, administration, performance tuning, deploying portlets/ pages, setting up ACL's for portal applications. Configuration of IBM WebSphere Portal with LDAP, Oracle, Siteminder TAI Build and execute deployment scripts using JACL, JYTHON and WSADMIN. Prepare required documentation for production support transition. REQUIREMENTS: Must have Systems administration experience (Linux-Unix) with knowledge of clusters, replication, application hardening, DB interaction in web context. Must have advanced knowledge in the following: installing, tuning, troubleshooting, operating, testing, planning and configuring relevant technologies. UNIX shell scripting experience is must as is the use of JACL, JYTHON, and WSADMIN. Must have previous hands on experience implementing Siteminder//TAI and LDAP in WebSphere Portal Setting. Must have at least 5 years Middleware Admin experience with the following: WebSphere Application Server, IBM Portal Server Must have IBM WebSphere Application Portal 6.0 Administration certification. Should have strong communication and documentation skills, ability to host and manage troubleshooting calls with system administrators, DBA*s, developers and other applicable resources. Must have significant experience in establishing, running and supporting a highly available, redundant server environment Must have advanced WebSphere Administration Experience. Very Strong Java/JEE Experience. Must have strong in Architecture and Design of Portal. Must have strong leadership qualities. Must have good client management skills and team player skills. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
