*Job Description:-*The Senior AIX/UNIX Administrator supports users on the
AIX/UNIX/LINUX System environment, performs system backups and maintains
operating system improvements and upgrades. Monitors system performance,
and manages the development environment setup. Helps to mentor more junior
Administrative team members. Configures, manages, and supports Enterprise
Backup Environment running on EMC Storage Management platform and recovers
systems and files, as required.
Maintains standards, risk assessments, documentation and procedures related
to system administration.
Maintains interface with users and other Information Services.
Monitors, interprets console messages and system error logs, and responds
to operational requirements, department guidelines, and standard
operational procedures.
Provides key operational statistics on system usage, disk utilization,
downtime and performance.
Configures peripheral devices.
Creates, maintains operational documentation and technical documentation.
Writes, edits, and revises scripts, as needed.
Performs user account maintenance. Installs operating systems and patch
level code changes.
Responds to Help Desk dispatches regarding AIX/UNIX/LINUX administrative
and break-fix support requests.
Works with vendors, coordinates repairs and/or installation, ensures
problem resolution.
Participates in projects, operational management processes and documents
activities.
Performs related duties, as required.
