Hi. Kinda new to Spyder and Python in general, but I find it an invaluable
learning tool. The immediate and easy to use debug and variable watch
functions tell me so much more than a print() statement ever will.
Recently reinstalled Spyder from scratch, and a few days later got a New
Version
iate the alternative suggestion you provided. I already
had the standalone Spyder package installed, and so was keen to use this,
but appreciate that I could install Spyder using "pip" instead.

just flagging this again as it's been a year since I first raised it and
there have been no replies: are there any plans to add syntax highlighting
for snakemake files? It would be a good addition - a lot of people are
using snakemake now for pipelines in python.

I find that this similar loop, which uses raw_input() to step through plot
updates, can be accomplished when run directly from python command-line or
from ipython, but when run in a Spyder python or ipython console it waits
until after the loop to show the figure:

I've spent the last couple of days trying to get spyder to run on my
mac and I just can't finalise it. I've installed everything like twice
or three times to make sure. looked at all the directories to make
sure everything is there etc. but I can't get spyder to open from the
terminal
yeah mine came straight from Riverbank too. I actually downgraded from
python 2.7 to 2.6 to try and get other parts working halfway through
the install of everywhere and in the process of reinstalling
everything for 2.6 I may have messed some stuff up. what is the best
way to remove PyQt?
