This isn't a place that you contact, this is a mailing list of Pidgin
Hi,
Whenever I try to add a Google Talk account, after entering all info, the
PROTOCOL field won't stay Google Talk as selected. Instead, it ALWAYS
changes to XMPP! I tried so many times but Pidgin did the same thing. Pls
help/advise.
Thanks so much!

Kind Regards.
Hi,
I have a question about Pidgin usage.
Is it possible to associate a sound to specific words someone might say in
chat?
Let's say I'm in a chat with 20 people and we decided that every time
someone has to say something to everyone starts his sentence with the word
ALL: hi can..., is it
This is by design. GoogleTalk uses XMPP like all other XMPP services
(e.g. jabber.org, jabber.cz, gmx.net, ...). The GoogleTalk option was
only added because some people mistakenly thought that GoogleTalk was
not supported by Pidgin. Are you having trouble with connecting to
GoogleTalk?
Cheers,
Hi,
I got some ideas how you could make this happen. There are several
options:
a) set your nick to the word that you want to cause the sound. This is
ugly but it's simple. If you want to keep your nick, you can make two
simultaneous connections to the same server.
b) use a plugin. I don't know
Hi,
Thanks a lot for you reply.
I tried to look for a plugin but didn't fin it yet (to be honest i didn't
spend much time searching...yet lol)
I'll give a shot with the other solutions. (of course finding a plug in
would be great)
Anyway...It might be a good idea for next versions, i think
keeping this on the list...

Are you sure that you have entered everything correctly? (many people
manage to find wrong ways of filling in that dialog.)
You need to put napakorn.athakasehm in the username field.
In the domain field, you put gmail.com. The rest can stay as it is.
If you still can't connect, there might be a
The Purple Plugin Pack's[1] Highlight[2] plugin does some part of this. I
don't know if it does sounds but it should trigger the normal 'your name
was said' action.

Unfortunately, Pidgin is not really specific about what is causing this
issue. I have already looked at the source code and I found several
possible reasons that can lead to this error message.
