I wanted to use active directory because when my colleagues log on to a
computer they use a username, for e-mail another username, for web tools
another one and so on... It's a lot of different usernames and to make easier
the log in pidgin
on all tools too, if they login to another computer, they don't need to
think about their username for other tools and I wanted that pidgin
follow the users whatever computer is used.
If you are concerned about security, you definitely do not want a client
program, like Pidgin, accessing

When I think about security I mean data goes outside of our network. We need a
messenger between employees and I chose pidgin because of bonjour protocol
which doesn't need to connect to a server outside of our network. So my
question is : do you know a messenger able to connect

Possibly, but only if you use Groupwise instead of Bonjour. I don't
know enough about that to give a definitive answer, and I don't know if
