I use Pidgin 2.7.2 and when I'm working and someone sends me a pidgin
instant message my cursor loses focus and moves to that window. This is
annoying especially when I get several pidgin messages a day. Can you help
me please.

The current version of Pidgin is 2.9.0, I would strongly suggest that
you upgrade and then test whether your focus problem still occurs.
2.7.2 is very old and is no longer supported.
