I'm running 2.10.0 against my Openfire 3.7.0 server. I have a number of shared
LDAP groups set up in Openfire, so, as I log into Pidgin, I have a set of
predefined groups already presented to me. To replicate the problem, I do the
following:
1. Create a custom buddy group in Pidgin

Have you tried contacting the people who run the service ? It is much
more likely to be a problem with them, rather than Pidgin. If it is a
Pidgin problem, you will need to provide the exact text of the error
