Legality of .NET Messenger (MSN Messenger) with Pidgin/GAIM

Myspace doesn't receive messages

I can connect to myspace, see people login and logoff, and i can send people messages and they receive them on the built in IM bar at the bottom of the page. But when they send me a reply i never receive it in pidgin. If i log into the bar on myspace's website i get the messages. But never
