This this case the server is the gmail xmpp server. You'd need to get a
debug log (Help->Debug Window) when receiving this error to get more
information about what's going on.
Alternatively you could try the 3rd party Hangouts plugin which has an

I installed pidgin for our small organization of 20 users using Gmail.com
accounts.
I added some 5-6 Accounts and Buddies but at some point for some users it
shows a message "Server closed the connection"
I tried to Modify Account and Reconnect but it does not work.

I have looked in that theme control and it's a bit odd. Conversation Entry
changes the font I type... Conversation History for whatever reason just
changes the size of my name in the text window, neither seem to be simply
changing what the
I'm not sure what I just did to cause this, but when in a message box on AIM
using pidgin, as I type the little bar above the textbox with Font and Smilies
etc will jib up and down constantly as I type, it didn't do this before and
it's super annoying.
