Hey guys, saw Pidgin on SaaSHub yesterday. Love the product!
Are you guys actively promoting Pidgin? We have a pretty active, free Slack
community with over 6,700 members (mostly SaaS founders and growth
marketers). There are several channels where we talk about various
SaaS/digital marketing
this
unnecessary service has been to block it at the host firewall level.
Out of curiosity, why would you want to disable UPnP?

Searched the archives, and ... well.. Maybe it's been asked, I just
can't seem to find the wording maybe?
Using pidgin 2.3.0 on XP, say I keep a IM window open with someone.
They log off. Now, when I alt-tab and come past the pidgin IM window,
their icon is 'greyed'. And even if I go to that

I'm able to get to www.pidgin.im on and off - but 2.4.2 still shows as
the latest version.
I'm also seeing the same error connecting to ICQ, but I doubt that has

official ICQ client, remove him from the buddy list, quit ICQ, I then
reloaded the ICQ official client (to make sure he was gone), then
quit ICQ, then reopened Pidgin.
There are some AIM Buddies that are bots that I'm not sure
ICQ?
I asked about that a while ago. From what one of the Pidgin
developers said, that's ICQ's server doing what it thinks is right.

try logging on once in the actual MSN client??
Regarding ICQ - this is a 'feature' courtesy of ICQ. ICQ's servers do
what they think is best for you and change your privacy setrtings
based on your available / away status.

send myself a mail, and the taskbar icon begins to flash. I bring
Pidgin into focus, and get the 1 New Mail notification.
Could you maybe have something that's blocking Pidgin from flashing
in your taskbar or otherwise coming

with the forward), but what I personally do is have a different IM
account for say home, work, and mobile.

What IM protocol are you attempting to login with? What is the error
message you receive?
Did you change or forget your password? Likely you'll need to go to
the website for whoever provides the IM service and reset it.
