Make sure the XML you have is well formed. If there is an error in the
XML the translations will not be interpreted.
You can check the XML with:
1. Editor that has support for XML checking - Netbeans, Eclipse
2. Open the messages.xml in in Firefox/IE

That was the problem, the XML was bad-formed and that fixed the
