I see your OOO
Dana,
A recruiter found me on LinkedIn when he was trying to fill my current
position. We chatted, and I interviewed for and got my current job. I ended
up with a 33% increase in salary, working for a great company. I wasn't even
looking for a job, but this one sort of fell into my lap.

Does anyone out there use the professional networking web site called
LinkedIn? I've gotten back in touch with several people who I knew in
college or who were coworkers years ago. I doubt that I would have made
contact with them without LinkedIn.
I have a few of my fellow tech writers in my
I use it occasionally. And now you know of two people, because I have
responded to invitations with that very same message. If I don't know them at
least through something like this TCP list or some other organization to which

There are Yahoo! and Google groups of company alumni, but they can be a
hit or miss proposition. At least, with LinkedIn, you can keep in touch
with people you used to work with (I've been in this racket since about
1982). As long as they keep their LinkedIn contact info current, you know
you

If I was looking for a job, it would be another resource. I've seen jobs
posted for technical writers from time to time. I have no way of knowing

Revisiting an invitation I received in mid-October, when I look at the
invitation message, it offers me these options:
Act on This Invitation
[Accept]You and Xxxx will be connected on LinkedIn.
[Decline] Youll be prompted to write a note to Xxxx. Xxxx wont be
allowed to invite
if they've added that option to invitations.
