Ah, haven't found a button for placing the call on hold.
Today outgoing calls work. I do notice that when I place the call,
it's muted, but as soon as the call rings, it's automatically unmuted.
Incoming calls do not work. They (usually) stay muted.
I've found another funny problem, which
I've been debugging kde-telepathy, I it seems to me like stream negotiation in
telepathy is a bit flaky. For me sometimes holding and unholding a call will
cause it to succesfully renegotiate a stream.
This may or may not help with Empathy.

I've got a sip account. When placing a sip call (audio only), I cannot
hear the person on the other side, but they can hear me.
