And you first need to install the EDO applet on the TOUCH itself.
Without EDO the TOUCH doesn't play through the USB connection.
since you're running LMS 8.2 you may want to tick the "community
firmware" in LMS > Settings > Plugins. This will update any TOUCH,
RADIO, or duet CONTROLLER's firmware to 8.0.1. I've been running this a
while and have zero issues. Note that after installing the plugin, it
may be 24 hours

Just adding my 2 cents to the OP's question (and confirming all the
other advice). Yes, one must be running LMS somewhere to use the Touch.
It is not a player that one simply directly connects to a computer. It
is a "network streamer". LMS manages the local music files, or internet
radio
connect MacMini to ethernet. Connect Touch to either ethernet or WIFI
(same network as MacMini). This is how the system is designed.

connected via ethernet to his router, and rPi

Given that you have two Touch players with exactly the same symptoms all
of a sudden, I don't suspect something has gone wrong with both TOUCH
players. I suspect something on the network or WIFI. You say you've
done factory resets of the TOUCH players. I might try this again, but

1. In many ways the squeezebox/LMS ecosystem has never been stronger.
The rPi revolution (and piCorePlayer), among others, has solved the
discontinuation of the hardware. The usergroups at this forum are doing
amazing work.

and hypothesized that the TOUCH doesn't like channel 6, but there is

That tells me that the TOUCH is not talking to your local network or the
internet in general. I suspect something minor is wrong. Have you done
a factory
and if headless is ok (like the duet receiver), then you could also move
to an rPi3B+ with a hifiberry DAC+ Hat running piCorePlayer to replace
the receiver if you find a TOUCH is too expensive.

No, LMS will be installed as part of the piCorePlayer software. Read
through all the getting started steps and I think it will make more

Keep in mind that there is nothng to setup for the rPI before using
PiCorePlayer. One burns the SDcard with piCorePlayer OS,

I think yes. You'll be running a "tiny" version of the LMS server on the
Touch. And other players on your network can be connected to that LMS

correct, you need an external DAC. Lots of choices, from a few dollars

it is an APP installed directly via a menu on the Touch. It is NOT a
plug-in in LMS.

First thing I would do is:
1. turn OFF (unplug) Touch
2. Turn off computer/NAS running LMS
3. Unplug modem/Router.
Then:
1. plug in modem/Router and let fully start
2. turn on Computer/NAS running LMS and let fully start (i.e., can
access the webGUI of LMS)
3. Plug in Touch and it should find
1 - 100 of 1810 matches
