You could try to always run the PrefPane in 32bit mode:

No Joy. Tried 32-bit mode and still get nothing.

It has been a long time since I have needed to ask a question but...
Well... I am having a problem. My Touch is now hard down.
When I click on the system preferences pane for my Mac (running OS X
Lion 10.7.4) I am having MAJOR issues. Here are the steps that I am
doing:
- Launch
First of all: you can always open the web UI in Safari:
http://localhost:9000
What can I do? This is awful... I have to reload CD's
Check OSX' console where you should see why it fails to start.
