I have quite the same problem.
Only after a reboot the sshd is running, working and accepting connections.
Whatever I try:
stop ssh,
restart ssh,
start ssh
or with service like:
service ssh stop/start/restart
or with /etc/init.d/ssh, which isn't doing anything.

I think this is caused by setting Ctrl-Space as the default shortcut in
ibus-setup's default configuration, that's a diff between Ubuntu and

I have the same problem. (Ubuntu 14.04 32-bit) I installed the most
recent batch of updates (including one for compiz) and after the next
reboot my system is effectively dead. After login I get wallpaper only.
Ctrl-Alt-T doesn't get a terminal. Ctrl-Alt-F1 works OK.

Hi Marco,
I downloaded the Hotkey app from Clevo and InitHeadphone.exe is still
present. All it does is calling the function InitHeadphone from hp.dll.
If you don't like the Hotkey app, I guess you can also fix the problem
(on windows!) by saving hp.dll, uninstalling the Hotkey app and then
I'm kinda new at this. Do I understand you to be saying that, in order
to free up space on my hdd, I can safely delete such items from my /boot
file as abi 3.11.0-17-generic and abi 3.11.0-19-generic if abi
3.11.0-24-generic has been installed?

When I upgraded some cup lib packages (not cups-daemon or cups-browsed), I
couldn't stop cups:
sudo stop cups
