install of Ubuntu 23.10 on a fresh Dell Latitude 7440. Both are now
unstable, regularly crashing out of gnome with a full plain white screen

Just yesterday my screensaver preferences seem to have been overruled by
some always on feature (meaning that my screens aren't going blank after
5 minutes of inactivity, per my current screensaver preferences).
I have had this problem happen to me once or twice this year
@Tim Woelfle (teadoub) which kernel version do you have? And for you
make a file /etc/modprobe.d/snd conf and paste "options snd-sof-intel-
hda-common hda_model=alc287-yoga9-bass-spk-pin" was enaugh?

I try it again, this error has nothing to do with bug #1861609. In 2020
I was running Xubuntu 20.04 and Virtualbox 6.1. This error only occurs

I've also had the same issue after an update from ubuntu 20.04 to ubuntu
22.04 with udev (249.11-0ubuntu3.11).
Just as an additional note on how to mitigate if someone stumbles over
this.
1. remove the group: sudo groupdel kvm
2. Then run upgrade again: sudo apt upgrade
