Just wondering does anyone have any ideas for a Melbourne Release
Party, as with the Brisbane InstallFest it would have to be close to
good parking (Have luck ;)) and public transport. I have thought about
the State Library cafe there however I am not sure about the prices as

Is it possible on boot-up (11.10) to select from a choice of window
managers - such as lxde, xfce etc ?

If you install them, yes. They are all available for installation via
Synaptic or the Software Centre.
And don't forget Cinnamon which is a very serious contender for your
desktop.
