No the shutdown doesn't allways work either. I just suspected sudo usplash to fix something (It allways works in x), but I cannot say anything for sure now. For the moment I had 3 boots in a row with splash (and 2/3 shutdowns.) I will try to figure out more . -- no boot splash in kubunut
