Although it is visible, Ubuntu cannot fully configure my sound card.
I have a Soundblaster Live card CT4760, and have also tried an SB Live
Platinum SB0060 card (both use emu10k1 driver) and an older Soundblaster
(using the ens1371 driver). Same behaviour. The machine is

Ubuntu kernel from Feisty because it has a couple newer drivers (e.g.

upgrade it, anyway.

sorry, I meant to report this against the linux-source-2.6.20 source
package, not the binary package. The binary package in question is
linux-headers-2.6.20-12-generic. The same thing applied to linux-
headers-2.6.20-9-generic, which is why I just went for the source
pacakge.

Running Feisty on a Dell Latitude D800, hibernate no longer works (it
used to work in Edgy). When I try to hibernate, the screen blanks for a
little while, and then I get returned to a login dialog (like the one
from gnome-screensaver), but then computer never shuts down.

From what I understand from your commit this just involves changes to
two strings in the document keeping safe. If that's right, I would
just do the same fix in branches/feisty, regenerate the pot file for
keeping-safe, and upload it to Rosetta manually. If it's done quickly I
don't see a problem.
There are lots of squashfs errors in your syslog. This points pretty
clearly to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive. It may help to clean the
CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a lower speed, or to clean the CD/DVD
drive lens (cleaning kits are often available from electronics
suppliers).

Good to see that finally someone else has reproduced this bug, but sad
to see that there seems to be no action so far to fix the bug.
I've just updated my feisty64 install in VMware and see that the problem
persists.
