I will not belabour the point that the issue is with the ATI video card.
The simple fix for me was to edit the last line of the soffice.sh

Sorry, my bad, it built fine, except it refuses to run unless
/usr/bin/ksniff is SETUID to root (From what I can gleam from main.cpp).

I can confirm that something is wrong...
so far today, I tried to write a cd ISO to a blank cd in the burner, and
it display the Please put a disc, with at least xxx.x KiB free, into
the drive. The following disc types are supported: message. Also if I
try to copy a cd from one drive to another
So actually this is a case where Debian policy is wrong. swt-gtk.jar is
different on 32- 64-bit archs, so is arch dependent and hence goes in
/usr/lib/java.

Upon further testing, it seems like the likely cause for this is 2.6.21+
having BETTER power management support - and, thus, entering the lower

Installing adonthell - waste's edge from g-a-i in feisty does not
actually install the game or a menu entry pointing to this. This is

Yes, the dependency of gv and evince on gs-esp is quite annoying (in
fact, I think it's a bug in itself).
However, you don't need Acrobat Reader; you can use your favorite
programs by having gs-esp installed to satisfy their deps but telling
the OS to use gs-gpl instead. To do that,
What are the exact symptoms you're seeing in Gutsy? At least for
yesterday, my LCD brightness and Fn-keys worked fine, even though
there's a warning in dmesg about tosh_hotkeys not found.
You should probably provide kernel version as well as symptoms.
