Recently I have performed a clean install of Hardy (initially I upgraded).
It pleases me to indicate that now bluetooth is working as it should.

BUG ON crash probably due to unionfs when installing sudo update with dpkg

As I found out the writing permissions aren't changed on updating but are set
correctly on an new installation. So please try this:

Thanx for the suggestion Alasdair. I have tried to get it to work with
ndiswrapper. Installing the Windows driver went fine but it keeps
telling me there is an alternative driver present on 'ndiswrapper -l'
even after blacklisting and unloading rt61pci.

I found out why the download manager crashed. so is the bookmarks and whatever
else that require disk access. My home folder was out of space. I'd just
noticed that I have 0 bytes free when I was looking and searching for firefox

I forget to mention that it is a notebook, so it has a TFT. What i found out so
far: If i put splash on the bootoptions, i can s´witch to the text-console, but
the notebook freezes, when a initiate a reboot. Without splash, i can't switch
to the text-console but a reboot works. :(

sheebangs are back as it were. I didn't know that $home folder has a
space limit.

Hello! I'm experiencing almost exactly the same problem as Alan and
Patrick with my RAID controller (Promise Fasttrak TX2300). In Ubuntu
7.10, this worked fine, however since the upgrade to Ubuntu 8.04
(2.6.24-16 kernel), the dmraid is not able to find the
/dev/mapper/pdc_* devices. As mentioned,
I have a similar problem. I mount /home and few other directories from NFS,
with mount definitions taken from NIS. I have to manually /etc/init.d/autofs
restart after each boot.
This is with Ubuntu 8.04, and I think the problem started with 7.10, perhaps
with 7.04.

to have suspend working.

Ok, I think I got it ... after doing everything in post #82 and letting
the computer run through the updates I then put this line in terminal
(which I got from post #59)
sudo apt-get install linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-19-generic linux-
restricted-modules-2.6.24-19-generic

I have this, but i'm wondering if its a separate issue as I have intel
3100 not nvidia. Is this only an nvidia bug?
This is not esculisive to nvidia chipsets. I have an ATI radeon card and
intel 3100 graphics on board and I'm havint the same problem with both
GPU's. Just did -18 upgrade via

Another remaining issue before this is usable: symlinks of the form
/usr/lib/opencryptoki/stdll/libpkcs11_sw.so - libpkcs11_sw.so.0.0.0 are
required, unless you patch opencryptoki to look for libpkcs11_sw.so.0
instead. See debian bug #481453

It seems to be the same thing for me. My Firefox doesn't crash, but, if
I am playing around with flash content and opened last FM radio station
a warning pop out advising me that the ALSA framework for my sound card
was in
I can't remember if the nomination was set before hardy or any of its
alpha versions were released. Anyway, I'll report the bug at gnome :)
