The fixes were reported on upstream SVN. That said, upstream fixed one
more issue with the openvpn panel (the certificate password that was
asked for really was a private key password), so it's probably better
to take the full rev4127 upstream patch.

I'm getting this now with 2.6.27-6-generic amd64, ever since ALSA broke
a couple of days ago after a partial upgrade (which I filed under bug
#280534). The laptop beeps like crazy when it should be displaying the
Ubuntu screen with progress indicator. It does eventually boot, it just

Thank you, libcanberra 0.10 is working flawlessly with the latest
pulseaudio version in Ibex. I'm us 64 bit version. I recommend this
for an upgrade to get event sounds working again. I am still testing
but all seems to be working as normal.

The contents of /etc/pam.d/* are immaterial, here; we know that it's the
unix_chkpwd process that's segfaulting, which means pam_unix must be
involved. And I have seen bugs more recently whereby pam_unix will fail
open if unix_chkpwd crashes unexpectedly; but the only case where I've
/seen/
I just updated some pulseaudio drivers and rebooted and it only beeped
once this time. It's still a regression compared to last week though
when it didn't used to beep at all.

As my locale is ko_KR, I will nominate language-pack-kde-ko as a buggy
package. They should contain KDE 4 stuff.
