I just installed apache2-prefork-dev, including libaprutil1-dev, on my
Intrepid 64. It went just fine.
What does apt-get say if you tries to install libaprutil1-dev directly?
Have you added any third party repositories? What files has gem placed
where on the system?

There is a bug here somewhere, just not the obvious one :)
Actually apparmor handles mysql replication without any trouble on a
fresh hardy install.
The problem arises from the fact that the default relay-log changes from
gutsy to hardy. In gutsy it is /var/run/mysqld-relay-bin.* while hardy
I'm running Intrepid, and like zcrar70 did not have the problem under
Hardy.
I've found if I close the first dialog box twice, and the Ctl-C the
command-line, the next time I try it it works fine. Weird.

Alright scratch the original idea, I am pretty sure this is a blue tooth
related error. The system logs always make alot of noise about
bluetooth at the time of lockup. I have de-activated the bluetooth
daemon and it has yet to crash again. simply switching off the radio

That's odd. You might be correct though. I just had a look through the
option parsing code for ntfs-3g, and exec did not appear to be an option
that was parsed, so I assumed that it was not valid. It doesn't appear
in the man page for ntfs-3g either. I'll revisit this again this

I'm sorry, but it's working now. In fact before 8.10 I always edited the
xorg.conf + gdm.conf manually without using graphical tools.
This way of doing did not work anymore with 8.10.
I then figured out that the good way of doing it with 8.10 was simply to let
all the config files
Its not just flash. I'm having the same intermittent crashing (usually
every 1-2 days), and many times I'm doing nothing but streaming audio
via VLC. (unless of course open office has flash embedded -grin.).

And, no, it's Jaunty with it's 2.6.28 kernel and the 'stable' ext4 support.

I have the same problem. Same errors. It seems to go away when I remove
the backports-modules package. When I googled, it saw that Ubuntu isn't
the only distribution that has this problem. A fix was sent upstream,
and is present in the latest compat-wireless.
