i just tried to install ubuntu server 8.10. You cannot skip the
networking stage and then set the time. I assume as it wants to use an
ntp server. Can this be altered so that one can still set the time

patch, in UBUNTU, as we old WIN XP guys dont know your language. Most of

I minimise a window, and it's nowhere to be found again, so I have to

keyboard, since during GDM login screen the numlock is off.

Tried with radeon / radeonhd drivers, with an integrated Radeon 1250
card, and both crash.
I'm just surprised this bug is only rated medium, since like many
other people, my parents only use this computer for internet / mails,

Oops, I just found out I had set up MAC address based filtering on the
DWL-2000AP+...
Other La Fonera owners, if you're able to access the configuration
interface of your router, you could try if changing the
authentication/encryption protocol helps you the way it helped me.

permanently, just add the line
echo 1 | tee /sys/devices/system/cpu/sched_mc_power_savings
to the file /etc/rc.local. But make sure you insert it *before* the

I should have been more specific. I have the same problem - sound from
the headphones but not the builtin speakers. Editing the suggested
files with both
options snd-hda-intel model=mobile
and
options snd-hda-intel model=laptop
made no difference.
Next I downloaded and installed the driver
I upgraded my system from Intrepid to the new Jaunty. the system hanged
as usual during restarting HAL, so I expected being asked to enter the
usual 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' which supposed to fail and enter the
dilemma again.. but when I entered it I surprised that everything is
fixed without

This is a clean install of Jaunty.
Sorry about the versions, I got them from the wrong place. Looking at my
Debian changelogs, the versions currently installed are:
nautilus (1:2.25.4-0ubuntu1) jaunty
gvfs (1.1.5-0ubuntu1) jaunty
It happens every time on the two video DVDs I've tried. Both DVDs
Crashed again, and during boot (after yesterday updates), without opening
opera and/or firefox.
This time had to kill compiz from a tty in order to be able to finish the
graphical boot.
Very annoying.

I just did a clean install of Alpha4.
- The touchpad xfree driver is not installed, so tap-to-click did not work
- After installing the driver, everything work, with exception of edge scrolling

I'm running kernel version 2.6.27-11-generic and use a Microsoft wireless laser
keyboard 5000.
Using showkey shows that this kernel does not support this keyboard.
Is the patch that includes support for these microsoft keyboard going to
make it into the regular kernel image?
