mysql-server (there is no X on the server machine, so no GUI package
manager). I am sure that it didn't prompt me for the password for the

I reproduced the problem with the original version of nut in the hardy
release, 2.2.1-2.1ubuntu7, and confirmed that upgrading to the version
in hardy-proposed, 2.2.1-2.1ubuntu7.2, corrected this issue. I also
verified that things work properly

the connection simply fails after login.
I have done some research, and it seems that I'm hit by the same bug as
described in Debian #495917. I patched ssh 1:5.1p1-3ubuntu1 with the

Sadly I cannot say I really found the root of this issue, yet. It
unfortunately shifts if the sizes of the kernel text and rodata change.
At least the kernel that I uploaded for other reasons to -proposed
(currently building) has been verified to boot normally. This is, or
will be, -24.50. So

I upgraded to the new kernel 2.6.28-8-generic #23 and then on reboot, after
some minutes, apport starts the bug report.
The netbook was plugged on AC and I did not take any action related to
suspend/resume.
After bug report the machine still worked fine and then I powered it off as
default.

The cause of this issue is that request_firmware() blocks until the
firmware image is available. It makes a request via userspace, but at
the time of resume all userspace tasks are frozen and therefore it waits
and times out.
