I'm in no way an expert regarding this issue, but here are some
thoughts:
1- Unless there is a bug related to your specific video card in NVIDIA driver
180, you should go with the 180.
2- Usually, when you have two devices, one integrated with the motherboard and
one plugged in a port,
I'm in favour of being able to customise the font size. The current
default should be optimal for most users, but Simon's case is a good
example of a situation when additional options are necessary.

For the apport side of things, I'm pretty sure that the reason is that
the apt-get cron job wasn't run yet, so that apt didn't know package
origins. That's not something we can fix in apport itself. It also won't
cause too much confusion for users, since we disable apport in stable
releases.

Can confirm that problem on Ubuntu 8.10 (x86_64) and Windows 2003 Server
(latest patches installed). That auto reconnect is very annoying so it
should be at least possible to disable auto reconnect.

We cannot currently remove messages from the queue. The suggestion is
interesting, but the protocol does not currently supports it. We may add
this option later though as part of other enhancements to notify-osd and

I started having this problem a while ago after an update. I was hoping
that some subsequent update would fix it, but, alas, no such love.
Is there a system fix for this, or do we just need to know this piece of
tribal lore to get around it?
