for rhythmbox, until I found this gem, which explains everything. They
only work if it is minimalized to a tray.
Why not just _always_ show the notifications? Or at least, always show

I get this almost every time I shutdown the PC, and I have to hit ctrl-

have made to ubiquity, especially not without a syslog. I can only deal
with Ubuntu installations. I'm afraid you'll have to ask the gOS people
