Hi Bryce,
The latest update at least has ended the immediate X restart but it has by
no means solved the problems. No video content runs at all. It seems to load
but there is only black screen. Slides shows

When the pc is powered off, the on-board nic enters power save mode.
Upon power up, the kernel Realtek 8111D driver fails to bring up the onboard
nic.
The only way to bring up the onboard nic

The kernel i am using is 2.6.27-11-generic. (not powerpc
2.6.27-11-generic :P)
The above log files where taken when the nic-card was operating.
