hello,
i am testing kubuntu jaunty alpha 6.
before samba was working very well.
since some updates this weekend i got same symptoms as described above.
samba simple won't start.
sudo /etc/init.d/samba restart looks good but ps -e |grep smb shows that
samba is not running.

I just reproduced the dovecot question on a similar amd64 upgrade. Note
that before the upgrade, there exists /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf and
/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf.bak that differ like so:

I have just tried booting the Ubuntu 9.04 Beta CD (as a live CD) on this
Averatec 3280 laptop. There is a significant improvement in the
situation, but it is not quite perfect. What happens is that a large

Jaunty also. Under Intrepid, the hibernate worked reliably.

look for 2.6.27-14, I don't see it in Synaptic, and the upgrade manager
says the system is up to date. Is there something special I need to do

My X4500 is also still fairly sluggish compared to intrepid with

@gidantribal, the status incomplete in this case looks like it came from
the upstream bug report. But it could also be used by us to reflect that
we asked for more information and are waiting for that. Unfortunately
there is no launchpad state for that.

Fit Page Width mode goes
A memory leak at a rate of a GB/s would quickly exhaust all system
memory and trigger the OOM killer. If the memory is being allocated in
very small quantities then it may swap for a while, but the system will
recover in due order.
Which is why, independent of whether we should be setting
Will look into the Channel Editor not persisting tonight.
Drag/Drop channels in the Channel Editor to reorder.

@jarviw, I think this would be a different bug. The description here (as
far as I can see) was about random crashes while using the wireless. So
for problems after suspend, could you please open a new bug report? Did
you see improvements during operations?

the cleanest solution for the problem, I'm not sure about it at this
point, but I have a look.

3. Log out
4. On the login screen, select Spanish. GDM changes properly to English. Once
