I say change the wording. As for the time-remaining indicator that
applies to the whole install process, I think it's a good idea but do we
have any reliable way to estimate that? I hate it when the Windows XP

I've installed the patched kernel on Ubuntu Netbook Remix - Karmic and
now I've got sound on my headphones and speaker!!! Thankyou!!

options snd-hda-intel model=toshiba (model=ALC272 also works)
No luck getting the internal mic to work however with that.

Bruce, just ran what you suggested. But it does not crash the X server, only X
session. I ran it from an gnome session within an xterm session:
gnome-session gnome-session.log 21
Indeed, gnome-session crashed, leaving xterm and X server running. (However,
couldn't get the focus back to xterm.)
This is a really tricky bug!
I now notice that the pointer changes correctly , even on the second
hover after the resize...

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Sometimes Firefox profiles can become
corrupt and/or extensions can conflict. Could you please try this with a new
profile and see if the problem still exists? You do not need to delete your
old profile to test. If this helps, you might want to try to
Ubuntu can't use the official registered Microsoft Windows and Apple
logos because of copyright laws. What is possible is to make a logo that
looks similar. Sun does this in virtualbox (showing a 4-colour butterfly
icon for windows virtual machines). Mik3 has also proposed something

I've been experiencing the same problem under the latest Kubuntu Karmic
(vanilla install of Alpha 4; all updates since then; I made no
modifications whatsoever in /etc.)

Nautilus memory leak on regular usage for long hours
If i am to submit a valgrind.log? when do i start running it? since this
is for long running leak.
I'm familiar with the wiki https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind
But not sure how to submit for this scenario.

The update unfortunately doesn't fix it, the behaviour is the same as in
comment #26.
Bug 387866 seems to describe the lack of separate control from external
(docking station) versus internal speakers (as does this bug report) and
a general lack of sound on the headphone jack of the docking
Isn't this an X bug as well? A user program shouldn't be able to just
*kill* the X server without even having something in the log.

Mouse on Com port - does not autodetected. Event after changing

I've been able to verify that Chromium does not use RENDER acceleration
for antialiased fonts for web content; I asked one of the developers.
That would seem to explain why it doesn't show up for Chromium web
content (as stated in my previous comment).

please consider this bug report as obsolete/no need to fix it any more.
I tried to install WinXP on this machine and got blue screen (during
installation) with some HW related problems. I tried again and got another blue
screen with a bit different msg, but anyway, crashes were caused by HW
