I started to having exactly the same problem on Synology NAS with Samba
3.2.14-1 from NSLU2 Linux. It actually works fine with Ubuntu 9.10,
Windows XP and Windows Vista. The troubles started with Windows 7. I

0.6.9-3ubuntu1 installed on the Ubuntu box in question. Internet traffic is
over wired ethernet (eth0). ifconfig eth0 and route -n both report what one

I have experienced mysql failing to start for the last 2 months, after
an Ubuntu upgrade, and this failure to start could be worked around by
stopping apparmor. I have now added the line proposed in the original
posting, and mysql now appears to start satisfactorily when apparmor is

When initially I applied the fix I was able to connect via my wireless
adapter (Ralink RT2870) to my hidden WPA2 network intermittently.

No joy with Jaunty 9.10 I'm afraid, I was hoping I might have time to do
a fresh install at the weekend and install all the packages again, but
unfortunately I didn't have time.
However, the good news is I haven't managed to reproduce the bug on my
Lucid 10.04 Alpha 2
After upgrade to Lucid Alpha 2, boots correctly to login screen but
system freezes immediately following password entry. Can be worked
around by booting in recovery mode, login from command line, launching
gdm, and logging in again. Symptoms very similar to bug Bug #518201.
