With all updates installed (as of today), I still get the error message
Could not open location 'smb://u...@server/share/'. DBus error
org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply
(timeout by message bus).
The error message comes almost instantly, no 100% CPU activity as
sun-java6 is not in lucid anymore. If you installed it from outside
Ubuntu (like the official Java site), you may consider forcing to
install without the dependencies.

Copied /lib/firmware/isl3886 from Jaunty into Lucid's /lib/firmware/,
and now it works. Why did this file disappear from the linux-firmware
package and where would be the sanctioned way to get it in Lucid?

So you still have it. But in fact your case not so similiar like mine.
Perhaps it is OK in your case. I mean it just reflects that there is
problem with EDID.
In my case this ERROR repeats in dmesg many times.
And I have this: i915 :00:02.0: LVDS-1: EDID invalid.
And its happen even with
501 - 600 of 3390 matches
