Hi, I may have a similar bug or even a duplicate. See bug #642825 if you
are interested.
For me, running normal updates fixed half of the issue - I did at one
point get the 'render ring head not reset to zero' output, but after
updates I only get 'hangcheck_timer_elapsed'.

Which one actually works and which one doesn't seems to be random (race
condition). This problem also affects the new mail/messages indicator.
In all cases the drop down menus are synced, it is just the icons which
are not eg green envelope, muted speaker etc.

Hello, the problem seemed to be with my router (3com). I have already
replaced it and the issue is gone. Now I have a dlink and everything
seems to be working as expected. The previous router (3com) is gone, so
I can't make the tests with it anymore and provide the output you have

Copying my comments from bug # 640181.
gcc-mingw32 contains /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mingw32msvc/4.4.2/libgcc.a for
the creation of 32-bit Windows (i586) code but the same does not exist
(along with a bunch of other lib*.a files) for the amd64 target.
gcc-mingw32 for Maverick (10.10) on amd64 and i386
