Okay, I captured it while the cpu was spiking. It's lowest is about 4%.
It had 2 torrents queued up, both of them were inactive.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm using an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro
using the Xorg r300 drivers, default to Maverick. Other programs don't
seem to be as laggy as

Seems to be working for me, on the contrary. This is with DejaVu Serif,
size 9, set as the font instead of the DejaVu Sans or Ubuntu default
fonts.

This has been a problem since pulseaudio was introduced. I did a fresh install
of 10.04 Lucid and the same bug is still there.
Personally I solve it by removing pulseaudio but I tried the suggestion in #30
first and it worked for output.

Transmission 2.04 is also very laggy for me. The download/upload speeds
are ok, but the gui is terribly slow. It takes 0.5-2 seconds while the
app respond to any clicks (eg. pause/start or changing priority of files
in the torrent etc. All other apps are fine.
I have an Asrock A330ION mainboard

I have a Lenovo T500 and it would be nice if the fingerprint reader

I managed to add facebook to gwibber at first. However it was updating very
slowly for me. Like #36 said, it took several hours to update. I decided to try
to remove facebook and then add it back. However there's no add button now and
workarounds don't work.

I use the middle-click equally or even more often than the right-click, that's
because of Firefox. Besides that, I have a physical button for right-click, so
the touchpad gesture is really needed.

It looks like the clamav user was not removed when you purged the old
clamav packages, and then when you tried installing the new packages,
clamav-base postinst script tried to create 'clamav' user, which was
already present so the script exited, and that left the package
unconfigured.
