I'm not sure if this is related.. but I have 10.10... and Skype works,
but I can't even open the options menu. When I right click on the icon I
get a small blank box, and when I click on the skype icon in the contact
list window... nothing happens.

Seamonkey also rewrites x-www-browser.. bad..
so instead of installing www programm it shouldnt overtake settings
and
gnome and exo (for xubuntu) and x-www-browser settings should be the same..
so if i change something in gnome settings then it should change also x-www

I had the nearly the same problem with the same monitor. It would start
in 1280X960 mode. I could switch it to 1360x768 running compiz on the
Nvidia 173 driver but I never did get it to start that way.

Note that I am currently running with gnome (becuase kde won't run).
I tried the above... and got a popup indicating no additional information
stored (or something like that) and the message...
Package kubuntu-kde4-meta not installed and no hook available, ignoring
in the terminal window. the
BTW, setting menustyle from 2 to 0 speeds up menus substantially for me,
removing the bug.
(Open /usr/share/themes/Ambiance/gtk-2.0/gtkrc in any text editor and
change line 111 from menustyle = 2 to menustyle = 0).

This will happen when I get an IM that triggers a sound alert, or even
when I go into preferences and preview a sound.
Expected Result: Sound plays and segfault does not occur.
Actual Result: Sound does not play, segfault occurs.
