I have solved the problem doing like this:
after have installed Ubuntu 10.04 with external monitor i have installed:
sudo apt-get install v86d
gksu gedit /etc/default/grub
change the line:

hostnames (35 characters in my case), you encounter this bug. TinyCA2

This bug effects some people more than others leading to difficulty
replicating the problem. For those it does effect it's quite
frustrating.

A fix was apparently committed in June of last year. Lucid still has the
problem. What happened to the `pending review' that was supposed to

Me too, fully updated Maverick. Evolution with debugging enabled shows nothing
useful in a terminal, I just get

Can not be used. 1-2 times click on the icon and get a complete freeze
fluxbox 1.1.1, saves only Ctrl + Alt + F1 and top + kill id
I tried to find out what is happening using xev, and it seems that vim
grabs mouse and keyboard input when F10 is pressed, but does not release
the grab when Escape is pressed afterwards. So this looks like a bug in
gvim.
When using F10 and Escape:

No, it was recycled already. But I am sure only those mentioned packages
were upgraded, it came from Update Manager
