It does affect me too. It crashes at converting flac to mp3.
Also, i would ike to suggest adding to package informations what we should
install to get converting to mp3 (what packages are suggested), i had to
install few to get it to work.

How is this a matter for the upstart package? It's the cron package

Using Natty with new kernel, the issue seems to be fixed:
$ uname -a

I used the driver version 2.4.0.0 on Kubuntu 10.04 on an eeepc 901

When I boot, the screen is complete black. I have to Alt+Right to get
the a terminal which prompts me for my LUKS passphrase.
I expected a graphical boot with an entry field.

Of course after a reboot, I forgot to stop nut and start apcsmart
with debugging. :-( So when the problem reoccurred, I didn't get the
debug output.
But I ran strace of the apcsmart process, you might be able to
use that instead.

Yes, I am able to open the file (and others) if I use an absolute path.
I think it probably is a duplicate of bug #695120.
@Daniel - please could you try changing to the directory which contains
the file, and then using:
$ inkscape `pwd`/graph-cmax-10.eps
