I'm finding that the crashes are now intermittent with kernel 2.6.38-8.
I've seen the end of a kernel backtrace when it goes down, and it looks
like it may be related to the wireless drivers. As I can only see the
last few lines on the eee's screen, I can't tell for certain.

Thanks for your reply. A power spike during a thunder storm resulted in
the boot sequence of Ubuntu becoming corrupted. I had to reinstall from
CD. After that, the emblems were OK. Since then, I have never tried to
synchronize any folders outside the Ubuntu One folder and all emblems
display
I've exactly the same bug, but it's weird because without sudo, the
command eject /dev/cdrom works perfectly ! So I don't that's a problem
of permission !

created against that package since it's not in the archive yet, so I
created it against the maverick backports kernel and then edited the
versions, etc.

Does the usb CUPS backend also crash if you run it from the command
line (terminal window, also after a hibernate or suspend), via
sudo /usr/lib/cups/backend/usb
If you can reproduce the crash from the command line, please proced as
described on
https://wiki.kubuntu.org/DebuggingProgramCrash
Can you also check whether the problem still persists with a newer
version of Ubuntu, preferably Natty? If you do not have a machine
running this version, boot your laptop with a live CD of Natty and check
whether the problem still occurs there.

iMac connected to MacBook in Target Display Mode shows
ok, well I installed oneiric kernel found here http://kernel.ubuntu.com
/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.0-rc1-oneiric/ installing the .deb 64bit image.
Added what was suggested changes to the module under 10.10 and still
cannot get the backlight to work. Found the kernel log, where I logged
into the
901 - 1000 of 1977 matches
